Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

Make the Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday holiday a day on, not a day off, by volunteering for the National Day of Service. Councilmember Austin is partnering with Leadership Long Beach to host a kick-off event at Scherer Park, followed by corridor clean-ups at Long Beach Blvd. & 48th Street, Atlantic & Del Amo, and at Orange & 52nd Street.  Gloves and trash bags will be provided.  Due to the limited supply of tools available, volunteers are encouraged to bring their own shovels, brooms and rakes to help with the clean-up. For more information or to RSVP, contact Melody at (562) 570-1326, or email district8@longbeach.gov.
